One To Watch - Moe

Mark Smith - Sunday April 25

Redoute’s Choice’s sister Monsoon Wedding has had six daughters that have sold for $1million or more and you might have to shell out something similar for her Galileo (IRE) filly Love Takes Time (IRE) who made a winning career debut over 1600m at Moe on Anzac Day.

Monsoon Wedding was purchased by Coolmore for $2.3million at the Teeley Asset Dispersal at the 2014 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. The following year she was exported to Ireland.

She was covered by Galileo and left just her second colt from 11 foals. Named Godzilla he is an unraced five-year-old.

Two years later, Monsoon Wedding left Love Takes Time (IRE). Bred to northern hemisphere time, Love Takes Time carries the colours of John Camilleri’s Fairway Thoroughbreds.

Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman, Love Takes Time (IRE) came from last under Patrick Moloney in the Fillies and Mares maiden (1600m) to power home over the top of the Shamus Award filly And She Was by a neck with a further twelve lengths back to the Zoustar filly Zoumatic in third.
