One to Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 26

The Australia Day meeting at Warwick Farm produced an impressive debut winner from the powerful Team Hawkes by their former stable star All Too Hard.

Three year-old filly Jenga had shown plenty of ability on three previous trials and was the top pick for punters in the 1100m maiden.

Partnered by Tommy Berry, Jenga did everything right in the hot conditions, jumping quickly to find the lead and then cruising along in front to keep going and win by three  lengths.

A $380,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Cressfield draft for Hawkes Racing, Jenga was the most expensive yearling by All Too Hard sold in 2019.

Jenga was the most expensive yearling by her sire All Too Hard sold in 2019.
Bred by Cressfield, she is a half-sister to stakes-winner Granny Red Shoes and is the fourth winner from stakes-winner Shoboard, whose dam is a sister to Group I winner Star Satire, the dam of Group II winners Satin Shoes and Zarzuela.

Shoboard has a yearling filly by Not a Single Doubt, but no foal last spring and is now in foal to Merchant Navy.

Jenga looms as a promising filly for Vinery Stud’s All Too Hard, who is enjoying a great season with five stakes-winners headed by his dual Group I winner Behemoth.
