Sacred Falls Filly Super Impressive

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday December 16

On Tuesday we ran a story on Breednet predicting a big run from Kiwi bred Sacred Falls filly Impecunious at Caulfield on Wednesday, but punters were obviously oblivious to that as she went to the post at 30-1 and cruised home by more than two lengths.

Trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, Impecunious was having her first run in Australia  following a win and a third placing in New Zealand earlier in the year.

The filly made light work of her first task for her new trainers, crusing clear under Damien Oliver to win over just 1200m by more than two lengths.

“I think she can progress into being a really nice filly in the autumn and hopefully we can get up to Sydney for some of those good races,” said co-trainer Natalie Young.

A $140,000 Karaka Book 1 purchase from the Waikato Stud draft, Impecunious was later bought privately to continue her career in Australia and has huge potential with two wins from three starts.

Impecunious is the first winner for stakes-placed Zabeel mare Sheezababe, a daughter of Group I Sydney Cup winner Honor Babe.
