Rated perfectly in front by Rachel King, Greysful Glamour led all the way and would not be denied, scoring a long neck over the Godolphin duo of Best of Days (IRE) and Criaderas.

“That was pretty to watch, she got control of the race which she loves to do,” said Mark Newnham.

“She produced her trademark kick and held on.

“She’s an all time favourite, she raced as an early two year-old, she placed in an Oaks and was our first Melbourne Carnival runner. She’s an exciting mare to watch and she’s the sweetest and loveliest mare around the stable. Everyone loves her.”

Everyone loves her!

A $90,000 Inglis Easter Session II purchase for Darby Racing / De Burgh Equine from Edinglassie Stud, Greysful Glamour and has six wins and nine placings from 33 starts and has won over $800,000 in prizemoney.

She might be by a Golden Slipper winner in Stratum, but Greysful Glamour is blessed with a stout staying pedigree on her dam side.

Greysful Glamour is a half-sister to Group III placed Celestial Falls and is the first foal of Rippled (GB), a minor winner by classic sire Dalakhani from a daughter of Sadler’s Wells. The family features many European Black Type winners including high class stayer Libran (IRE), who was second in the Group I ATC Sydney Cup.

Rippled has a yearling filly by Pierro and after missing to Dundeel last year and has been covered this spring by Fastnet Rock.
