Aquis to Support Young Gun Sires

Aquis Farm is launching the stud career of three exceptional young stallions this spring in Divine Prophet, Kiss And Make Up and Furnaces. All three young guns will be heavily supported with the ever expanding Aquis broodmare band.

Aquis Farm and partners have been among the biggest buyers at the Australian broodmare sales this year securing 21 mares for $2.3 million at the Inglis Broodmare Sale and a further 47 mares for $7.6 million at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. This follows on from last year when Aquis and partners bought over 40 mares from those sales totalling some $3.7 million.

Top class, quality, commercial mares with Black Type pedigrees and world-renowned bloodlines, this bevy of beauties are now to be put to good use as they kick-start the stud careers of Divine Prophet (Choisir), Kiss And Make Up (More Than Ready (USA)) and Furnaces (Exceed And Excel).

Divine ProphetDivine Prophet and Kiss And Make Up will cover no fewer than 20 Aquis mares and they are all either out of a stakes performer, stakes-performers or producers themselves, or a siblings to stakes performers. That is a phenomenal line up of mares for young stallions.

There will be quantity and more importantly quality for both Kiss And Make Up and Divine Prophet. We will ensure that we give them both a phenomenal chance to succeed at stud in the near future," said Jimmy Unwala, Head of Nominations (NSW).

Some of the stakes winning mares Divine Prophet will serve are Jardaa, Kalamata, and Melrose Place, while there are also half-sisters toGroup I winners Distill and She's a Meanie, Group II winners Heatherly and So Pristine, Group III winners Concealer and Cute Emily.

Kiss and Make UpKiss And Make Up will cover stakes-winners like The Chunkster and Cariad, also half-sisters to Group I winners Hurtle Myrtle, Sea Siren and Zip Zip Array, half-sister to Group II winner Rudd Not Too, half-sisters to Group III winners Sugar Babe and Almighty Girl.

There is a great mix of young and precocious mares with currently active families and relations, and mares from NZ, AUS, CAN, USA, GB and IRE.

Queensland based Furnaces is not to be left out and will cover no fewer than 25 Aquis mares and will have the numbers in his first book to ensure he can make a big impact on Queensland racing going forward.

FurnacesMares he will cover include the dams of Awesome Planet (the dam of Group I winner Awesome Rock), First Amongst Equals, Scratch Me Lucky and Destruction. Also mares from the immediate families of Group I stars Sacred Kingdom, Eremein, Harry's Son, Seventh Rock, Kirramosa and Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Karuta Queen.
