Trainers have nominated 13 runners for a shot at a Cox Plate start in Saturday's Group II Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

The entry deadline for the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes has been extended until 10am on Tuesday along with the nomination cut-off for the Group II McEwen Stakes (1000m).

Darren Weir has three of the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes nominations with Articus, Big Duke and Star Exhibit among the entries while Macedon Lodge has entered imports Amralah, Gallante and Sir Isaac Newton.

Kiwi training partners Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman have nominated the Australian Oaks winner Bonneval for her first spring outing while Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young have entered 2016 Australian Derby winner Tavago.

A field of 10 sprinters have been entered for the McEwen Stakes.

The Group I Galaxy winner Russian Revolution tops the ratings on 108, a point ahead of Heatherly and the first-up winner Missrock.

Weir has nominated Hellbent and Winx's little brother El Divino for the $200,000 contest.
