Top bets from Brad Waters for Saturday July 29

Brad Waters - Saturday July 29

The drought broke in a good way last Saturday but there will be no resting on one's laurels at Saturday's Caulfield meeting.

Air Supply fans should load up on one at Caulfield on Saturday.

CHARLEVOIX (Caulfield - Race 2 No 1)
Charlevoix will have no excuses if he is beaten on Saturday in the VOBIS Gold Stayers over the 2400m. He gets in only 4kg above the limit in a race restricted to VOBIS Gold-nominated horses, which ruled out all of the competition he has faced in open class races at his last three runs. The son of New Approach was a strong winner over 2520m at Flemington on June 24 before a sound enough effort in the Banjo Paterson Series Final last time out. He's back to 2400m for this but the weight terms suit him well and he should be winning on Saturday.

CONFLUENCE (Caulfield – Race 3 No 6)
Confluence is an improving colt that could put up a good show at odds at Caulfield on Saturday. He struggled at his only run in his maiden campaign but has shown the benefit of the time he had to develop in his two runs this time in. He hit the line well when second at Echuca when resuming on June 26 but his second-up effort at Bendigo was terrific. He was ridden along on the home turn but fought on well down the straight only to be nutted on the line in heavy ground. He'll be better again for that and the step to 1400m will be perfect for him as will firmer ground. He's a good each-way bet.

ALL OUT OF LOVE (Caulfield – Race 5 No 1)
All Out Of Love comes out of that ugly race at Caulfield a fortnight ago that resulted in half the field suffering interference when WIndbern shifted out sharply in the straight. Quite a few of the runners in that race are back at Caulfield in Saturday's race but I'm happy to play All Out Of Love here. He was strung up behind runners and couldn't get a crack at them before all of the severe interference took place and he picked himself up to make ground in the last 100m. He's a big horse that needs galloping room but he races best at Caulfield. Mark Zahra takes over on the son of All American on Saturday but he won on the three-year-old in April so the stayer loses nothing there. He can bounce back.

ODDS $12 @ Ladbrokes, Luxbet, Unibet, Bookmaker, CrownBet, Bet365, Betstar

MYSTIFIED (Caulfield – Race 6 No 3)
Mystified is one of many three-year-olds having one last crack at Super VOBIS prizemoney on Saturday and she's a great chance of picking up a welcome bonus for connections. She got too far back but wasn't far away at Moonee Valley two starts back before chasing strong again to be beaten less than a length by Highland Beat at Listed level in the AR Creswick Stakes down the Flemington straight. She drops a touch in grade and Craig Williams replaces the suspended Dwayne Dun aboard the Adelaide filly but, most importantly, there looks to be enough speed to enable her to finish her race off well enough to be in the finish.
BET: WIN
ODDS $6.50 @ CrownBet, Bet365
