AS a full brother to Group I winner Sweet Idea it’s no wonder this colt made $1,100,000 when offered at the Magic Millions by Arrowfield Stud.

Showtime as a yearlingThird in the Group II ATC Silver Slipper to She Will Reign, the Team Hawkes trained Snitzel colt Showtime indicated above average ability in his first preparation albeit finishing the season winless.

He resumed from a spell to finish a good second to smart filly Songlike at Canterbury on August 16 with subsequent winner Faeger in third place and was a hot favourite to shed maiden status at Wyong on Friday.

Showtime led throughout for Brenton Advdulla and cruised home in second gear to win the 1200 metre maiden by four and a quarter lengths.

Purchased by Dean Hawthorse Bloodstock, Showtime runs for a big syndicate of Arrowfield Stud and partners including Katsumi Yoshida.

He is a full brother to Group I winner and $2.4 million earner Sweet Idea and half-brother to stakes-winner Rush beign the fifth winner from Group III placed Flidais, a daughter of dual Group I winning stayer Electronic.

Arrowfield Stud sold another Snitzel colt from Flidais at Inglis Easter this year for $240,000 and she has a yearling filly also by Snitzel.
