$1.4million Colt Gets Inglis Easter Off to Flying Start

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 8

Kia Ora Stud started the second session of Inglis Easter online on Wednesday morning with some real fireworks when their I Am Invincible colt from Group II VRC Sires Produce Stakes winner Twilight Royale made $1.4million.

Closely related to this season’s Group III placed two year-old Unstoppabelle, the star colt was bought by Tom Magnier, who was the leading buyer at yesterday’s session.

A half-brother to two winners, he is the third foal of Twilight Royale, who was purchased for Kia Ora Stud by James Bester Bloodstock for $580,000 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2014.

A fast precocious two year-old by Testa Rossa, Twilight Royale was trained by Bjorn Baker who bought her out of Inglis Premier as a yearling for just $45,000, so her commercial fortunes have certainly been on an upswing thanks to her Black Type performance.

Twilight Royale has a weanling filly by I Am Invincible and is in foal to Snitzel, who is the sire of her first two foals that have both won.
