Pride of Dubai Delivers a Pinhook Success

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 7

Vendors offering pinhooked yearlings at Inglis Easter online have been finding the going tough today, however leading young sire Pride of Dubai bucked the trend with a colt from Nazca selling for $500,000.

Consigned by Coolmore, the stunning bay colt was bought by Hong Kong based buyers F Lui & V Lui.

Lot 105 sold for $500,000

Bred in Victoria by Burnewang North, he is the first foal of Nazca, a winning half-sister by Medaglia D’Oro (USA) to Group III winner Aramayo from the family of Group I winners High Hawk and In the Wings.

He was sold by Burnewang North at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale with Coolmore Australia securing him for $120,000, so his $500,000 sale here was a great result in the current economic climate.

Pride of Dubai is currently the leading Australian first season sire by earnings and winners.
