Lime Country embraces technologies ahead of Inglis Easter Sale

Media Release - Thursday April 2

Consistent with its innovative and transparent approach to doing business, NSW farm Lime Country Thoroughbreds is embracing all available technologies ahead of the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

The annual mega-auction, scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday (April 7 & 8), will be a global first online affair forced by the Covid-19 situation. While the bloodstock world has in recent years become well familiarised in the online selling and buying space, the Easter Sale will take that to a whole new level with the full catalogue set to be marketed online.

Helmed by Kiwi couple Greg and Jo Griffin at the former Think Big Stud at Bowral, Lime Country Thoroughbreds has taken little time to establish itself on the Australian scene and has been typically agile in pre-sale preparations around its quality Inglis Easter draft.

“Due to the unusual circumstances we find ourselves in, Lime Country has decided for the first time to utilise the online Kick Collective platform for the Easter Sale,” said Jo Griffin. “This is the same platform that until now has been used exclusively by Bhima Thoroughbreds and Cambridge Stud.

“Its ease of use, speed and efficiency, and the ability to fully reveal all veterinary, ownership and rearing details as well as comprehensive video footage is a perfect fit for our own and our clients’ philosophies.”

The Kick Sales package presents independent veterinary reports, including x-ray and scoping outcomes which in Lime Country’s case will involve respected practitioners Dr Chris Lawler and Dr Johnny Walker. The video content will provide complete conformation appraisal with front and hind shots, which has already gained the seal of approval from a number of respected agents.

Additionally, on the morning of each yearling’s scheduled sale next week, Randwick Equine will provide a walk-up soundness examination, which along with all other relevant information will be posted online.

“We’re leaving no stone unturned in our endeavours to be fully transparent to buyers,” Griffin added. “It’s a real confidence boost to be supported by all our clients, including Makybe’s Tony Stantic who owns a number of horses in our draft.

“Right now we are living in extraordinary times. As vendors at the Inglis Easter Sale we therefore believe that we need to go to extraordinary lengths in providing buyers with every piece of information at our disposal and our owners the very best chance to market their stock.”
