Blueblood Filly Makes Her Debut

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday March 31

In a world without sport, Australian racing continues and the meeting at Rosehill today features a raft of interesting runners, but none more so than the three-quarter sister to Champion 3YO The Autumn Sun.

$1.3million Inglis Easter purchase Archanna Prepared by Chris Waller, three year-old Snitzel filly Archanna has been given plenty of time to mature and has accepted for race two,  a three year-old maiden over 1300m.

Archanna was a $1.3million Inglis Easter purchase for Waller Racing / Guy Mulcaster and runs in the Arrowfield Stud colours with her breeders obviously retaining a significant share with other owners including 2GB broadcaster Alan Jones and various Waller stable clients.

Archanna is the third foal of blueblood Galileo mare Azmiyna (IRE), whose second foal The Autumn Sun was also trained by Chris Waller and won eight of nine starts earning $3.4million with five of his wins at Group I level.

Arrowfield sold a Not a Single Doubt colt from Azmiyna last year at Inglis Easter for $900,000 to Aquis.

Named Foscolo and also trained by Waller, he has had one barrier trial closing hard for a good second at Rosehill on March 16, so will be one to keep an eye on when he steps out.
