Juvenile Metro Double for All Too Hard

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 25

It’s been a ground breaking season for Vinery Stud’s All Too Hard with a Group I winner in Alligator Blood among eight stakes-winners since August 1 and a two year-old double on Wednesday again highlighting the merit of Black Caviar’s champion half-brother.

The Danny O’Brien trained filly D’Arbanville was a short priced favourite at Sandown for the open juvenile  fillies event over 1300 metres having finished fifth at her previous outing I the Group III VRC Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes.

All Too HardShe powered away from her rivals to win by two lengths at her third start.

A modest $20,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Maluka Thoroughbreds draft for Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) / Murray Thoroughbreds, D’Arbanville is the first winner for La Renaissance (Fr), a sibling to Group winners Weary, Nyaleti and Stellar Path.

All Too Hard was also in the frame at Warwick Farm where Forbidden Love won on debut for the Richard and Michael Freedman stable.

Unwanted by punters, she raced on the pace for Tommy Berry and kicked clear to win the 1100m maiden by a length.

A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase for Richard Freedman from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft, Forbidden Love is the second winner from imported More Than Ready mare Juliet’s Princess (USA), who was stakes-placed in Australia.

All Too Hard was priced at $27,500 last spring and covered 108 mares with breeders that stuck with him getting plenty of bang for their buck given his racetrack results since then.

Below are the leading sires with  six or more stakes-winners this season.
