Group One wins for a trio of Arrowfield stallions, Not A Single Doubt, Snitzel and Dundeel, another for Coolmore’s flagship stallion Fastnet Rock and a 1-3 result in the Ranvet for Cheveley Park Stud’s wonderful veteran Pivotal courtesy of the European invader Addeybb (IRE) and third-placed Avilius (GB).

Factor in Group III wins for the pride of New Zealand, Waikato Stud’s Savabeel, Widden Stud’s strikingly handsome Your Song and another former Cheveley Park resident, the Haras du Quesnay-based Intello who not only sired the N.E. Manion Cup winner Young Rascal but added the third-placed Supernova (GB).Coolmore's evergreen Fastnet Rock sired the George Ryder Stakes winner Dreamforce as well as the Rosehill Guineas runner Prince Fawaz and Birthday Card Stakes second Connemara

Yarraman Park’s title contender I Am Invincible chipped in with the Listed Darby Munro Stakes winner California Zimbol and came desperately close to landing the Galaxy with the very game Miss Leonidas. We have a new leader - Not A Single Doubt edges Snizel in the race for Champion 2yo Sire

Both I Am Invincible and Snitzel, who in addition to the Galaxy winner I Am Excited had the Golden Slipper runner-up Away Game and the Rosehill Guineas third Reloaded, did their title hopes no harm in chasing down the current leading sire Pierro whose best result on the day came with Group III Epona Stakes runner-up Gayatri was edged out by Savabeel’s Missybeel.

Pierro fans don’t despair. The champion son of Lonhro has plenty of ammunition and there was a lot to like in Shadow Hero’s fourth in the Rosehill Guineas and Pierata’s fast-finishing fifth in the Galaxy.

But the day belonged to the recently pensioned No A Single Doubt who edged passed his stablemate Snitzel in the race for Champion 2yo Sire through the deeds of his Golden Slipper winning son Farnian.
