Launch of Thoroughbreds Are Go – Monday March 16, 2020

Media Release - Sunday March 15

Caroline Searcy’s new program Thoroughbreds Are Go debuts on Sky Thoroughbred Central on Monday March 16 at 7.30pm AEDST.

The racing and breeding industry recognises the importance of re-homing its thoroughbreds, but how do owners go about finding a loving, new home for their horses away from racing?

And what are the thoroughbred’s specific needs the equestrian world should know to feed and care for them to the highest level ensuring their health and happiness?

Thoroughbreds Are Go answers these questions and includes stories highlighting the great athleticism, intelligence and all-round adaptability of the thoroughbred at junior and elite levels of many equestrian disciplines.

Thoroughbreds Are Go will be “must see” television Monday nights through the autumn racing carnival in Sydney and Melbourne with series two airing during the spring racing carnival.

Supported by TAB, Arrowfield Stud, Godolphin Lifetime Care, Thoroughbred Breeders’ Australia and Chris Waller Racing, Thoroughbreds Are Go’s first show looks at World Cup competitor Krissy Harris’s Thoroughbred Sport Horse Association which provides great prize-money for thoroughbred classes in NSW, rewarding their riders for taking on this special breed.

The thoroughbreds pictured below have all competed successfully in TSHA classes at NSW shows last year.

Lily Rose Baxter and Foxhill Cruise - aka Pitcrew , three time Sydney metro winner

One of Australia’s best thoroughbred re-trainers Scott Brodie advises racehorse owners on what they should look for if they want their horse trained for a life off the track.

Blue Gum Farm in Victoria shows off a 20-year old Herbert Power Stakes winner by Zabeel now looking after the next generation of racetrack stars, and Arrowfield Stud’s Strapper’s Stories shows the love those closest to our racehorses have for them right through their lives.

Thoroughbreds Are Go will also potentially be shown on free to air TV on Channel 7TWO and widely distributed through racing and equestrian organisations via social media.

Segments can also be viewed on Caroline Searcy’s Youtube channel so everyone in the racing and equestrian worlds has access to this important information for the thoroughbred breed.
