Star Witness Colt Amish Boy Wins Adelaide MM 2YO Classic

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 9

Promising Star Witness colt Amish Boy continued a great run of juvenile success this season for the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable when taking out the $200,000 Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic (1200m) at Morphettville on Monday.

Third, fourth and fifth at his only three previous starts most recently in the Listed VRC Talindert Stakes behind Ole Kirk , Amish Boy was overdue for a win and scored a determined last stride win over another stakes-placed maiden in Glenfiddich.

“He really deserved that,” said David Eustace.

“He’s been unlucky not to have won a race.

Amish Boy as a yearling“He’ll definitely get further so we might go to Sydney and have a look at the Sires Produce (1400m) or something possibly a rung below that.”

A $300,000 Magic Millions purchase for Ciaron Maher Bloodstock from the Widden Stud draft, Amish Boy runs for a big group of owners and has already banked $175,000 in prizemoney.

Bred by Widden Stud in partnership, Amish Boy is a full brother to stakes-placed She’s Our Star and is the sixth winner from terrific producer Sheeznodoubt, a speedy daughter of Not a Single Doubt from the family of Group II winner Rain Affair.

Star Witness has 10 entries for the Adelaide Magic Millions this week and you can see them here.
