16th Stakes-Winner for All Too Hard

Tara Madgwick - Sunday March 8

What a great season it’s been for Vinery Stud’s All Too Hard, who posted a new stakes-winner on Sunday when Cuba took out the Listed National Sprint (1400m) at Canberra.

Trained by John Thompson, Cuba has been allowed to progress through the grades and scored a career best win when travelling on the pace and fighting on to score a half length win for Tim Clark.

A $250,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Kitchwin Hills draft for his trainer, Cuba has the overall record of seven wins and nine placings from  30 starts for prizemoney topping $391,000.

He is the best of three winners from Tabasco Kitten, a half-sister by Redoute’s Choice to Group II winner Alizes, the dam of Group I winners Alizee and Astern.

All Too Hard is enjoying a bumper seasonHis grand-mother La Baraka and great grand-mother Triscay are both Group I stars, so Cuba is bred in the purple.

Cuba is the 16th stakes-winner for All Too Hard and his eighth this season putting him amongst the elite sires this season in terms of stakes-winners.

With over $7million in progeny earnings this season, All Too Hard is well on his way to his best ever season which is an irony given last season his service fee was dropped to $27,500 which was his cheapest service fee to date.

He covered 107 mares last year and those breeders would be feeling pretty happy right now that they decided to stick with All Too Hard given he has one of the best horses in the country in Alligator Blood.
