Kitchwin Hills Announce Sooboog Service Fee

Media Release - Tuesday March 3

Kitchwin Hills’ Sooboog (Snitzel x Monte Rosa) was from the moment he retired to stud, very much on the radar of a number of racing and breeding’s most respected judges who invested in him.

$250,000 Sooboog filly from Bella SundayNow with Sooboog’s first crop of yearlings revealed to the market place, it has become apparent to a significantly broadened audience that Sooboog is producing yearlings with some level of x-factor.

Sooboog’s first crop of yearlings are unquestionably turning heads at yearling sales with yearlings selling to date at an average of $88000 (7x service fee), selling up to $250000.

With a 7x return on service fee average and with significant breeder interest in play there was a level of temptation to raise Sooboog’s service fee.

“Kitchwin Hills are really excited by what we are seeing not only on type, but importantly the attitudes of these yearlings. You know when your senior yearling staff are investing their own hard earned into finding a good mare for him, and that this is all based on what they are working with in the paddock daily, those signs are really encouraging," said Kitchwin Hills Michael Malone.

"Then to see the way the industry has responded with yearling buyers like John Hawkes amongst others securing multiple yearlings…there is something pretty exciting brewing here.

“With the buzz and interest coming at us for the upcoming season we thought about raising his fee and discussed at length all the signs that we are seeing, however to be frank about the situation, we are six months away from the ultimate measurement of success, the race track."

So in respecting that fact. Sooboog will stay this year at his fee of $13200 (inc GST).

Sooboog will stand at $13,200 in 2020

"Sooboog will have 300+ 2yo’s unleashed via some of Australia's leading trainers of precocity when this 2020 crop hits sales rings around Australia. Given the original backers of Sooboog have their foot on a chunk of his 2020 nominations, there is subsequently a limited number of bookings available. Kitchwin are really keen to ensure Sooboog covers the best crop of mares he has seen to date. Having a tight book will allow us to do so," said Malone.

To secure your nomination for the upcoming season please contact either Michael Malone 0428 458 065 or James Hetherington 0428 783 300
