TSHA Classes Produce Happy Winners at Tamworth

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday March 3

The first round of Thoroughbred Sport Horse Association classes for 2020 took place at the Peel River Produce Showjumping championships at Tamworth last weekend with some interesting winners including a blueblood bred by Gerry Harvey.

Fly Too High and Elodie Emmett-Mourlet The Group 3 1m Championship class sponsored by Shugg Group was won by Elodie Emmett-Mourlet and her 10 year-old More Than Ready (USA) gelding Fly Too High.

Born in 2009 when his mother was 20, Fly Too High was bred by Magic Millions owner Gerry Harvey and is the very last foal of Palatious, who won the 1994 Group II WATC Perth Cup.

Palatious was an even better broodmare than she was a racehorse, leaving eight foals that all won highlighted by Group I VATC Blue Diamond Stakes winner Danelagh, who also found fame at stud as the dam of HK Horse of the Year Vengeance of Rain and Group I ATC Australian Oaks winner Dizelle.

Dizelle is in turn the dam of Pinot, who won the Group I VRC Oaks in 2017, so it’s a family still delivering success at the highest level.

Fly Too High was sold at Magic Millions as a yearling for $100,000 and was trained during his racing career by Paul Perry, winning one race at Cessnock from 19 starts.

While Gerry Harvey was probably most happy last weekend to have bred and sold Australian Guineas winner Alligator Blood, I’m sure he’d be also well pleased to see Fly Too High has found success in his life after racing.

Below are all the TSHA championship class results from last weekend.
