Another Debut 2YO Winner for Deep Field

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday February 26

Newgate Farm’s Deep Field is the leading sire of three year-old winners in the country this season and he’s also doing a good job with his juveniles adding a sixth two year-old winner to the tally on Wednesday with an impressive debut victory at Sandown for Unanimous.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Unanimous was easy in the market but unleashed a big finish after travelling wide to zoom home and win the 1000 metre scamper by two lengths running away.

A modest $34,000 Magic Millions Book Two purchase for Dream T'Breds/Bluegrass B/S/Ciaron Maher from the Newgate Farm draft, Unanimous was bred by the Love family and foaled and raised at Newgate.

Deep Field is the sire of UnanimousHe is the first winner for Flying Spur mare Without Exception, a full sister to Group II winner Krupt and three-quarter sister to stakes-winner Anevay.

Without Exception has changed hands twice in the last few years most recently fetching $400,000 at the 2019 Inglis Chairman’s Sale when bought by Coolmore and James Bester Bloodstock.

She has a weanling filly by Zoustar and was covered last spring by Pierro.

The current yearling from Without Exception is a Capitalist filly entered for Inglis Easter as Lot 288 by Little Avondale Stud.
