The Mike Moroney-trained Alabama Express was a $280,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Arrowfield Stud, who retained a share in his ownership, and has won four of his seven starts earning over $530,000.

Moroney expects the colt to continue to improve with race experience and he will take on Alligator Blood and Catalyst in the Group I VRC Australian Guineas this Saturday.

“We really wanted to see where he sits with the three-year-olds. He’s got the Group I win on the mantlepiece for beating the older horses,” Moroney said.

“We’ll take on the three-year-olds now and we’re quite happy to do that.”

Yulong has previously done business with Legh and partners, securing the 2018 Group I VRC Australian Guineas winner Grunt as the operation’s foundation stallion and he covered 178 mares last spring in his first season at stud.
