Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 25

The Rosehill trials on Tuesday morning featured plenty of heavy hitters in the winners list including Standout, Booker, Unforgotten and Cosmic Force with the six heats for two year-olds producing plenty of interesting winners including the most expensive yearling by Not a Single Doubt sold in 2019.

Trained by Team Hawkes, two year-old Not a Single Doubt colt Doubtland was third at his only previous trial behind subsequent Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Farnan and improved on that effort to score a stylish win.

He settled off the pace and powered home out wide to win by a length in 54.80.

$1.1million colt Doubtland was the most expensive yearling by his sire in 2019 Doubtland is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Group II winner Villa Verde and a full brother to stakes-winner Pretty Fast and was bought for $1.1million from the Arrowfield draft at Inglis Easter by Orbis Bloodstock.

He comes from the family of two Golden Slipper winners in Ha Ha and Rory’s Jester, but will need to be winning one of the last Golden Slipper lead up races with authority if he is to follow in their footsteps.

Arrowfield Stud will offer the current yearling from his dam Miss Sharapova, a filly by Shalaa (IRE), as Lot 78.
