One to Watch – Benalla

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 18

Heavenly Glow was the Champion Australian 3YO Filly for 2007/2008 and she is also the dam of an impressive maiden winner at Benalla on Tuesday.

Heavenley Bodied as a yearlingA three year-old filly by champion sire Fastnet Rock, the Kane Harris trained Heavenley Bodied was having her second start in the 1206 metre maiden and led all the way to score an easy win over the hot favourite Lodestar.

A big powerful bay with a prominent white star, she looked to do it very easily for Jarrod Fry, who was impressed with Heavenely Bodied.

“She was fresh going to the start and began really well and when the second horse came to her she was strong to the line,” Fry said after the race.

“When she gets over further she’ll be even better.”

A $160,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainer Kane Harris from the Coolmore draft, Heavenley Bodied was re-offered by Harris at the Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale making $260,000.

She is the fourth winner from five foals to race from Heavenly Glow, whose highlight wins came in the Group I ATC Australian Oaks and ATC Arrowfield Stud Stakes.

The daughter of Spinning World (USA) had a yearling colt by Choisir and had a colt last spring by Redoute’s Choice.
