Juvenile Trial Watch – Randwick

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 17

There were 21 heats at the Randwick trials on Monday morning and eight were for two year-olds which tells us the clock is well and truly ticking if you have a youngster with any plan in place to be running in carnival races this autumn.

Some of the Magic Millions 2YO’s were back in action here including Not a Single Doubt filly Stellar Pauline, the MM 2YO Classic runner-up who has posted three seconds at her only three starts.

She was ultra impressive, doing everything right under a tight hold from Brenton Avdulla to win by a little over a length in cruise control. She won't stay a maiden for long! Which will be good news for her Inglis Easter bound three-quarer brother by Redoute's Choice.

Vancouver colt Postcode is another smart type that has been second at his only two starts and showed in this heat he will be looking to go one better when he resumes from a spell.

Postcode was wide all the way for Tim Clark, but hit the line hard to win running away by two lengths. Love this colt, although his staying female pedigree would suggest he may be better placed in the longer juevnile races like the Sires Produce (1400m) and Champagne Stakes (1600m).
