Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 13

Four juvenile heats on the synthetic track at Warwick Farm on Thursday produced some interesting winners including spring stakes-winner Every Rose, but there was one winner that caught the eye on every level, from ability to pedigree to sheer wow factor!

Trained by Mark Newnham, two year-old Not a Single Doubt filly Deniki is a three-quarter sister to outstanding galloper Menari, whose career was cut short due to injury.

He won three of eight starts including a dazzling victory in the Group II ATC Run to the Rose and was retired after finishing third to Trapeze Artist in the Group I ATC Golden Rose.

His stud career at Newgate Farm has not gone to plan either with fertility issues hampering the flashy bay with the big baldy face, but enough of him, let’s look at his baby sister.

She led throughout and won her heat in the fastest time and looks well and truly ready for race day given this was her second trial this preparation.

Retained to race by Corumbene Stud, Deniki is the seventh foal from stakes-winning General Nediym mare Isurava, who has had three winners from four foals to race with Menari joined by Group III placed Sweet Ava.
