Father and Son Lead Classic Sire Averages

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 10

As we come into the final day of trade at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale it’s interesting to see a father and son duo leading the sires by average list for overall and first season sires.

Arrowfield Stud’s recently retired Not a Single Doubt had a booming sale at Magic Millions where he outsold his illustrious barn mate Snitzel and the demand for his stock has continued into Classic at Riverside Stables.

Not a Single Doubt

Not a Single Doubt has had three yearlings average $208,333 which has him marginally in front of I Am Invincible.

His best result, the $300,000 colt from She’s Our Choice that was offered by Bell River Thoroughbreds and bought by Ciaron Maher Racing/ Suman Hedge Bloodstock.

Bell River bred and sold Not a Single Doubt’s dual Group I winning son Extreme Choice at this sale in 2015 for $100,000 and he is our leading first season sire by average after the first two sessions.

Extreme Choice

Newgate Farm's Extreme Choice has had seven yearlings average $151,429, which has him marginally ahead of American Pharoah, who has led the first season sire averages at Magic Millions and Karaka.

His best result was a $280,000 colt from Set to Skelter that was offered by Bell River Thoroughbreds and bought by Dream Thoroughbreds / Blue Sky Bloodstock (FBAA) / Bluegrass Bloodstock (FBAA) / Anthony Freedman Racing.
