Written Tycoon Cracks Century

Clocking up 101 individual winners for the season, Woodside Park Stud’s Written Tycoon is a sire on fire, as he continues to produce the goods.
 
“He is only the second stallion to reach this milestone. This again proves he is such a consistent producer of winners at the highest level and continues to reward all that support him - breeders, owners and trainers,” General Manager commercial, James Price said.
 
Written TycoonLast season’s he finished the season with 150 winners which included star G1 colt Despatch and courageous G1 mare Booker, while the year before he tallied his highest number of victors for a season with 153 winners.
 
However, this year, that figure may be surpassed, having had many of the best mares in the country visit the Victorian Champion.
 
Currently sitting on 101, with close to 5 months of the season ahead, Written Tycoon is well on track to break his own record.
 
The 19/20 season has already included six 2YO winners and four black type success, including listed winners Hightail and Banquo, dual G3 winner Teleplay and the G3 winner Pippie, who is now headed for the G1 Oakleigh Plate.
 
With Inglis Classic Yearling Sales next week and Premier less than a month away, there are possible notable updates ahead for his progeny on offer.
 
“With his list of black type successes growing, Written Tycoon’s yearlings will continue to receive the attention they deserve with an outstanding selection of progeny available at the upcoming sales around the nation,” Price said.
 
Being presented at Premier, as Lot 138, the Written Tycoon x Dutch Romance colt will be cheering on his brother Marnix in the Listed $2 million Inglis Millennium on Saturday. Drawing barrier six, the Godolphin trained galloper will be piloted by inform Nash Rawiller at Warwick Farm.
 
Also hitting the track in group races this weekend is Score (Written Tycoon x Another Show) in the G3 Kevin Hayes Stakes and Banquo (Written Tycoon x Noondie) in the G2 Autumn Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, while on Sunday I Remember You (Written Tycoon x Mesmerising) will take her place in the G3 Bow Mistress Stakes over 1200 metres.
