Inglis Digital Sale Second Highest in History

Media Release - Wednesday January 29

The first Inglis Digital Online Sale of 2020 has continued the platform’s million-dollar sequence with the 315-strong catalogue grossing in excess of $1.97 million, the eighth sale in a row to reach the seven-figure mark and the second highest gross on record.

Liveinthefastlane was bought by Adam Mackrell of Bell View ParkTopping the January Online Sale was Fastnet Rock mare Liveinthefastlane, offered by Ciaron Maher Racing and sold to Adam Mackrell of Bell View Park Stud for $90,000.

“For me she ticked all the boxes, by a champion sire in Fastnet Rock who is fast becoming a top broodmare sire, she’s from a good family being a half to three stakes performers and there’s possible upside there with relations still to race,” Mackrell said.

“The fact she’s a Melbourne metropolitan winner is a plus and we made sure we did our homework by getting her inspected – and received positive reports on her physically.

“The plan is to pick out a suitable stallion next season and look to trade her in foal as an attractive package for someone.”

Tennessee Icestorm – a half sister to G1 winning Inglis Premier Yearling Sale graduate Seabrook – was the joint second top lot of the sale at $75,000.

The 7YO daughter of Zizou was offered by J W Ramsay in foal to Coolmore Stud stallion Merchant Navy and purchased by Warwick Jeffries, the breeder of Seabrook.

Unraced 2YO colt Nuclear (Spirit of Boom) also sold for $75,000 – to Queensland-based Kendrick Racing – having been offered on behalf of owners following an impressive Randwick trial win in December.

“I actually tried to buy Nuclear as a yearling, as I trained his half brother (and Inglis Classic Yearling Sale graduate) Jagged Edge (Better Than Ready) who won the Listed Dalrello Stakes, so when I saw him on there today I thought it was a great opportunity given he’s fully paid up for QTIS,” Stuart Kendrick said.

“I went through his trials and obviously his most recent one was really good.

“Given he was originally bought as a potential stallion prospect we know he’s a quality colt. We’ll probably geld him now and he should really suit racing in Queensland.”

The broodmare results included 17YO Zabeel mare Chi (NZ), which sold in foal to So You Think to Hastings Bloodstock for $55,000.
