One to Watch – Geelong

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 29

Brazen Beau gave us a ‘One to Watch’ at Geelong on Wednesday and he has a full brother headed to the Inglis Classic next month.

Zende as a yearlingTrained by Mick Price and Mick Kent Jr, three year-old gelding Zende resumed from a spell to score an easy two and a quarter length win in the 1200 metre maiden.

He sat outside the leader and sped clear to win as he pleased with Zac Spain in the saddle.

“He jumped good and travelled nice and was never going to get beat,” he said.

“When I rode him in a jump out the other day I had to give him a squeeze to keep him on the bridle, but today he just jumped and got the job done.”

A $140,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Woodside Park draft for United Syndications, Zende is the sixth winner from good producer Graceful Devil, a full sister to the dam of Group I winner Montoya’s Secret.

Kitchwin Hills will offer the full brother to Zende as Lot 665 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
