Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 28

There were plenty of star three year-olds in action at Rosehill on Tuesday morning with heats won by Bivouac, Kiamichi and Anaheed, while the two year-olds also provided plenty of interest with six heats that featured the return of $1million Golden Gift winner Dame Giselle.

One of eight two year-old winners this season for I Am Invincible, Dame Giselle was given a quiet trial by James McDonald and scored a narrow win with minimal urging and was the quickest of the juvenile trials at this distance.

Osamu, the second most expensive Exceed and Excel yearling ever sold, was beaten narrowly on debut at the start of the month when he raced greenly, but looked very professional here. He raced on the pace and kicked away to win with style.

$1.3million I Am Invincible colt Volterra has also had one start for a second and he had the quietest of trials, settling back in the field and going to the line under a hold.
