Who Will be Australia’s Best Sprinter in 2020?

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 21

That title has several contenders for the crown and two of them stepped out at the Warwick Farm barrier trials on Tuesday morning.

The Chris Waller trained duo of Nature Strip and Yes Yes Yes were both seen in action in Heat 1 over 900 metres with Nature Strip leading all the way to win easily under a hold , while Yes Yes Yes closed late under his own steam for third.

Nature Strip wins the G1 Darley Sprint Classic Both horses have Royal Ascot in their plans for this year and the path forward they take will be an interesting one given their trainer will no doubt seek to keep them apart until it’s unavoidable.

Nature Stirp finished his spring on a winning note taking out the Group I VRC Darley Sprint Classic in spectacular fashion after finishing fourth at his previous start to Yes Yes Yes in the $14.5 million The Everest.

Yes Yes Yes went direct to the spelling paddock after his Everest victory so he too went out a winner in 2019.

Their respective sires Nicconi and Rubick have strong representation at the upcoming Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, the former with 18 yearlings and the latter with 20.
