Magic Pinhook Winners Book 2

Such was the strength of the Magic Millions Book 2 this year that several pinhookers operating in this slightly lower level of the market also posted big results with Queensland based KBL Thoroughbreds enjoying particular success.

KBL offered the third highest priced horse of the session with their Shalaa (IRE) colt from Backless fetching $275,000 to the bid of David Redvers Bloodstock/Sandhurst Bloodstock/Suman Hedge Bloodstock/McEvoy-Mitchell Racing.

He was a $75,000 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale purchase for Platinum B & R/Pinhook Bloodstock from the Edinglassie draft.

They also had a great result with their Winning Rupert filly from Beatniks that made $140,000 to the bid of Mystery Downs/ John Foote Bloodstock.

She was a modest $30,000 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale purchase from the Newgate Farm draft for Hillside Downs.
 



Widden Stud also had a great result for UK based pinhookers Redwall Bloodstock with their Winning Rupert filly from Summery selling for $150,000 to Munce Racing Pty Ltd/Arthur Hoyeau/BK Racing and Breeding.

The filly was sourced from the Kambula Stud draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale for $50,000.

Wootton Bassett (GB) featured in Ireland overnight at The Curragh with two stakes-winning juveniles, Constitution River taking out the the Group II Futurity (7f), while the Group II Debutante (7f) went to the filly Composing, who comes from the family of Amelia’s Jewel.
Commemorative Retired to Stud
Watching the progress of Godolphin horses as they start stepping our for their new trainers has been interesting to say the least and will get more so this weekend when we see Tom Kitten go around in the Group I MRC Memsie Stakes at Caulfield, but one horse we won’t be seeing again is Commemorative.
