NZB Pioneers Technology for Future of the Industry

Media Release - Friday December 20

After several months in the making, New Zealand Bloodstock has unveiled a ground-breaking, innovative campaign in line with its upcoming 94th National Yearling Sales Series held at Karaka in January 2020.

New Zealand Bloodstock's new virtual reality mobile app is available to downloadIntroducing market-leading technology, NZB today released its mobile app constructed through augmented virtual reality. Downloadable from the App Store as the ‘NZB Karaka Experience’, users have the ability to immerse themselves in a virtual journey through New Zealand, around the Karaka Sales Complex and get a closer look at the sires represented at Karaka 2020.

The user-friendly app is key to assist potential buyers in providing further insight, and inspection of stallions when geographic restrictions prevent physical inspection. The app is a follow on from the Virtual Reality headsets that NZB produced earlier which will be available to experience at Karaka 2020, and carried with the Bloodstock team as they canvas Australia, Asia, United States and further afield.

“We are incredibly proud of the fact New Zealand Bloodstock and our Yearling Sale vendors are at the forefront of this technology and the potential it holds for the industry is incredible” commented NZB Managing Director Andrew Seabrook.

“The customisation and carefully thought out features are tailored to help assist potential buyers by giving them further insight into Karaka and the sires on offer.”

With content filmed in 360 degrees at both Karaka and out on farms, augmented with 2D imagery, animation and graphics – viewers using the technology will be able to submerge themselves in content via three pathways in the headset or on the mobile app.
