Vale, Miss Margaret

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 16

Bob and Sandra Peters have become some of the most successful owner breeders in the country and one of the horses that started it all for them was dual Group I winner Miss Margaret, who passed away at age 27 at Holbrook Thoroughbreds over the weekend.

Vale, Miss Margaret - a life well lived!Winner of the 1996 Group I South Australian Oaks (2500m) and 1996 Group I VRC Chrysler Stakes (1600m), the daughter of Marscay won seven races and over $580,000 in prizemoney.

At stud, Miss Margaret produced nine foals, eight to race and seven winners highlighted by Group II winner Confront, stakes-winner Celebrity Miss and stakes-placed Seafarer and Rafferty.

Julie Harris of Holbrook Thoroughbreds noted on her Facebook page - You will be totally missed at Holbrook Thoroughbreds . Spending 14 years with us on the farm, first as a broodmare and then as the best nanny any farm could ask for to look after the youngsters. Thanks to the Peters family for allowing us to keep her.
