We Can’t Wait to See – Lots 100 – 200 MM 2020 – Nicks That Click

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 10

Our ‘Nicks that Click’ stories are some of the most popular on Breednet so we thought in the lead up to Magic Millions and before the majority of yearling images are uploaded we’d assess the pedigrees and see what jumps off the page as a horse we just can’t wait to see!

The following horses are selected with no consideration to vendor or type and strictly appeal from what is on the page.

Lot 117 Colt Lonhro x Banuelo, by Street Cry (IRE) – Yulong

This looks a great mating on paper with Lonhro working well with not only Street Cry, but also with Redoute’s Choice.

The Lonhro x Street Cry nick runs at 11.5% stakes-winners to runners with Group I winning 2YO Lyre the standout, while Lonhro x Redoute’s Choice runs at 9% stakes-winners to runners.

Lonhro’s overall stakes-winner to runner ratio is 7.2% and the exact Lonhro over a Street Cry mare cross has produced four winners from five runners. It’s a fast family and has already produced a G3 winner by Lonhro in Generalife.

Lot 169 Filly Not a Single Doubt x Champagne Run (USA), by More Than Ready – Arrowfield Stud

The Not a Single Doubt x More than Ready nick runs at 14.2% stakes-winners to runners with the best result being dual Group I winner Miracles of Life. The exact cross of Not a Single Doubt over More Than Ready mares has accounted for five stakes-winners and 21 of 24 runners are winners for an impressive 87.5% winners to runners.

Not a Single Doubt’s overall stakes-winner to runner strike rate is 7.6%, so this nick does enhance his success.

This filly comes from a great family as her dam is from Group I winner Bollinger, in turn from Golden slipper winner Bint Marscay so it’s hard not to see this one winning a race.

Lot 170 Filly Choisir x Champalou, by Encosta de Lago – Tyreel Stud

This filly is a full sister to stakes-winner Champ Elect and there’s no reason to think this won’t work again given the success of the Choisir x Encosta de Lago nick.

The direct cross of Choisir over daughters of Encosta de Lago runs at 18.7% stakes-winners to runners which is significantly higher than Choisir’s overall 5.6% stakes-winners to runners and has produced Group I winners Divine Prophet and Japonisme.

More to follow in coming days.
