The Ron Quinton trained filly Nishka surged to the line to win the 1400 metre maiden by a long neck over another Wandjina in Indigenous.
A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newgate Farm draft for Aston Bloodstock, Nishka has a win and a placing from just four starts and can progress form here.
She is a half-sister to stakes-winner Gingerbread Man and is the sicth winner from good producer Quaffle.
Stakes-placed twice last season at two, talented Wandjina filly Grand Scholar was a brilliant winner at Moonee Valley on Friday night showing the promise of better wins to come.
