One to Watch – Tamworth

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 3

The powerful Kris Lees stable is not afraid to travel with a talented three year-old and this daughter of Dissident made a winning debut at Tamworth on Tuesday.

DissidentDissenter settled midfield and surged to the line to win the 1200m maiden by half a neck beating older rivals.

Dissenter runs in the colours of Australian Bloodstock and was bought for $15,000 from the Inglis Digital July Online Sale.

Bred by Emaroo Bloodstock, Dissenter is a half-sister to stakes-placed Monolpole and is the fourth winner from four to race from Group III winner Raise.

A full sister to Group I Australian Oaks winner Rena’s Lady and half-sister to Group II  winner Vatuvei, Raise was a $225,000 Magic Millions Broodmare Sale purchase in  2016 for James Bester Bloodstock when carrying Dissenter.

Coolmore will offer the current yearling from Raise, a filly by Pride of Dubai, as Lot  667 at the Magic Millions 2020.

Dissenter is the 11th winner this season for Newgate Farm’s Dissident, who featured with a Flemington stakes-winner during the spring carnival in Pancho.
