I Am Invincible's Dame Giselle Wins the $1 million Golden Gift

Mark Smith - Saturday November 9

Peter and Paul Snowden sent out four runners in Saturday’s $1 million Golden Gift at Rosehill and Peter Snowden’s pre-race confidence in the I Am Invincible filly Dame Giselle proved spot on when she came with a barnstorming finished to claim the $580,000 winner’s cheque.

Ridden by Andrew Adkins, Dame Giselle turned the stables on her Kirkham Plate conqueror See You Soon (Siyouni) to win running away by three and a quarter lengths with the winner's stablemate Blaze A Trail (Criterion) another short head away at her career debut.Dame Giselle powers away in the Golden Gift - image Inglis

“We’ve always liked her from day one. From the very first time she showed something and always had that good demeanour which I love about a two-year-old.,” Peter Snowden told Racing NSW.

“She was athletic and a great mover, the staff picked her out and the riders picked her out, she gave us a good feel early and I thought she was stiff not to win first-up so it’s good to get this result.

“She can have a well-earned rest now, poke her way back and only run in the races we need to. She might only need one run leading into the Slipper, we’ll let the dust settle and that decision will be made later on.”

Purchased by Go Bloodstock for $500,000 out of the Sledmere Stud draft at the 2019 Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Dame Giselle races for Sir Owen Glenn’s Go Bloodstock and China Horse Club.Dame Giselle a $500,000 Inglis Easter yearling

Sir Owen Glenn also bred and owns third-placed Blaze A Trail a son of his champion Criterion.

The daughter of Stravinsky is a half-sister to the dual Group 1 winner Cent Home (Lord Ballina) and the Group II Turnbull Stakes winner

Studebaker (Lord Ballina).

Purchased by China Horse Club for $350,000 out of the Widden Stud draft at the 2017 Magic Millions National Broodmare when carrying the Golden Gift winner, Ballet Society foaled a Pride Of Dubai colt on September 17.
