Boomer Bloodstock Purchase Brings Breeders' Cup Joy to Aussie Breeder

Tara Madgwick - Monday November 4

One Australian breeder very happy with results from the Breeders’ Cup meeting at Santa Anita last weekend would have been Wilf Mula, who is lucky to own the half-sister by champion sire Street Cry to Group I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes winner Sharing.

Bought as a racing and breeding prospect from the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale last year for $US220,000 by Craig Rounsefell of Boomer Bloodstock, I’m Pretty Strong (USA) had won two of seven starts and had a lovely pedigree being a half-sister to stakes-winner Riley’s Choice from Group I Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf winner Shared Account.

While three unplaced runs for the Chris Waller stable in metropolitan class races in Sydney earlier this year failed to enhance her value, the arrival of Sharing on the pedigree page has upped the ante considerably making I’m Pretty Strong into one of the most desirable imports to arrive from North America in recent years.

She is now safely in foal to Arrowfield Stud’s top class young sire Dundeel in her first season at stud.

The Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale represents a treasure trove of opportunity with this year’s sale starting on Wednesday November 6 – find out more here.
