All Systems Go for Inglis Ready 2 Race

Media Release - Friday October 18

A 2YO which has already won an official barrier trial by four lengths topped this morning’s final breeze up session at Warwick Farm ahead of the Inglis Ready2Race Sale.

Stryker gelding from Barraba StarIn total 23 horses breezed on the Pro Ride track with the fastest of the morning being lot 14 - a Stryker x Barabba Star gelding (pictured) offered by Quilly Park - in a time of 10.31secs.

The juvenile has already been named Eight Ball and is currently in training, easily winning an 800m barrier trial at Cranbourne on September 17 on a Heavy 10 surface.

James O’Brien of Lauriston Thoroughbreds – which is overseeing Richard Anderson’s Quilly Park draft at the Ready2Race Sale – described Eight Ball as “a quality 2YO’’.

“He’s a beautiful black horse, really a striking looking type,’’ O’Brien said.

“He’s got the right temperament and as he showed not only this morning in his breeze up but also at a recent trial, he’s got plenty of speed and overall ability.

“The jockey hopped off him this morning and said what a nice animal he was and that he’s only going to get better, so he will be good shopping for someone on Tuesday.’’

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale catalogue features progeny of some of the most exciting stallions in the country such as I Am Invincible, Not A Single Doubt, Deep Field, Zoustar, Written Tycoon, Medaglia d’Oro, More Than Ready, Hinchinbrook, Nicconi, So You Think, Starcraft, Spirit Of Boom, Rubick, Shooting To Win, Better Than Ready and Brazen Beau.

There are also four outstanding colts by hot young stallions Vancouver and Pride of Dubai, sires who have enjoyed instant early success from their progeny from limited runners.

The sale, which commences 11am this coming Tuesday, October 22, comes after more recent graduate success.

Nettoyer (Sebring), who was part of Chevaux Bloodstock’s 2015 Inglis Ready2Race draft, won her second Stakes race on Saturday in the G3 Angst Stakes at Randwick while two winners at Hong Kong’s Happy Valley meeting on Wednesday night were also Inglis Ready2Race graduates – High Rev (from Frankie Stockdale’s 2016 draft) and G Unit (a Gary Moore and Scone Bloodstock buy from Valiant Stud last year).

Of this year’s entries, 129 are BOBS eligible and 27 are VOBIS nominated, while a number are entered for the Inglis Race Series – those that are not, are still eligible to pay up – as well as the G1 Golden Slipper and the G1 Blue Diamond.
