Cambridge stud Purchase into Helllo Youmzain

Media Release - Friday October 11

Cambridge Stud is delighted to be involved in the purchase of exciting UK sprinter, HELLO YOUMZAIN.

Hello YoumzainAs reported in the UK press overnight, a partnership of Haras d'Etreham, Cambridge Stud and SF Bloodstock have purchased the son of Kodiac from his owner, Jaber Abdullah, to race on next year with his current trainer Kevin Ryan. The partnership are also the principal owners of European Champion Almanzor, who stands at Haras d'Etreham and Cambridge Stud.

Hello Youmzain recently won the Haydock Sprint Cup, Group 1, over 1200 metres and, prior to that, ran a game third to Advertise in the Commonwealth Cup, Group 1, at Royal Ascot. In addition, Hello Youmzain is a Group 2 winner at two and three, from only seven lifetime starts. He has been purchased principally with next year in mind, where it is expected he will take part in the key Group 1 sprints – Diamond Jubilee, July Cup and possibly a return to Haydock in September.

Hello Youmzain is by the prolific sire, Kodiac – a three quarter brother to Invincible Spirit by Danehill, who stands at Tally Ho Stud in Ireland for E$65,000.

His dam sire is the highly successful Shamardal, who has three of the best two years olds in Europe this year in Pinatubo, Earthlight and Victor Ludorum.

Cambridge Stud CEO, Henry Plumptre, said today "The key elements in his pedigree are those stallions - Danehill, Invincible Spirit and Shamardal, all of whom have had a massive influence on the Australasian bloodstock industry in recent years. Coupled with his performance, which has earned him a Timeform rating of 124, he is a great physical which is critically important in the Southern Hemisphere. We are very excited about the partnership and are looking forward with anticipation to next year."

In the meantime, Hello Youmzain will take his place in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes, Group 1, at Ascot next week over 1200 metres, to be ridden by his Haydock jockey, James Doyle - before being rested over the winter. He will race alternately in the colours of Haras d'Etreham and Cambridge Stud.
