He was consigned by Denali Stud, agent for Stonestreet Bred & Raised and is from the Unbridled's Song mare Tara's Tango, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Visionaire and Grade 3 winners Scarlet Strike and Madison's Luna.

Godolphin paid $2.5 million for a colt by Tapit who is a half-brother to champion and Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Nyquist to lead early results from today's opening session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

The amount is the highest price paid for a Thoroughbred yearling in North America this year.

Hinkle Farms consigned the colt, who is out of the Forestry Mare Seeking Gabrielle. At last year's September Sale, the colt's half-sister (now named Maria Rosa) sold to Godolphin for $1.75 million.

Larry Best's OXO Equine paid $950,000 for a colt by Into Mischief who is a half-brother to recent Del Mar Oaks Presented by The Jockey Club (G1) winner Cambier Parc.

Gainesway, agent for Bonne Chance Farm, consigned the colt from Canadian Horse of the Year Sealy Hill, the dam of Canadian champion Hillaby and Grade 3 winners Belle Hill and Gale Force.

Into Mischief has become one of the hottest young sires in North America and is a half-brother to Group I winning Scat Daddy son Mendelssohn (USA) who stands his first season at Coolmore Australia this spring.

The sale continues.
