Second-up syndrome may've come into play for GEE GEES ROUGHIE last start. THEWORDSOUT resumes with a trial win coming into this. OCEANIA HOPE gets a senior rider on now (heavy track excuse first-up) & she showed some promise last time in. Debutante KEL'S STAR has had three trials (2nd, win, 2nd) coming to this.

Race 2 summary - The Brunton yard hold a strong hand. Their filly FLIKPIX has an early career win beckoning off a very good debut. ODESSA LAD has come back in good nick & also has his hoof on the till. GOING PURPLE is a former Patrick Paine-trained 3YO now with the Brunton yard so watch your markets. KAMIKAZE FORCE next best.
Race 2 tips - 1st: FLIKPIX (7), 2nd: ODESSA LAD (2), 3rd: GOING PURPLE (12), 4th: KAMIKAZE FORCE (8).

Race 3 summary - ANOTHER BROTHER is ticking over beautifully towards a win. 3YO filly BASTETANI from the Brunton yard has to take another step here yet she's heading into a bright future. GRAND FAITH's effort last start was too bad to be true & could bounce back. TRIPPIN AWAY next best.
Race 3 tips - 1st: ANOTHER BROTHER (2), 2nd: BASTETANI (3), 3rd: GRAND FAITH (6), 4th: TRIPPIN AWAY (10).

Race 4 summary - Not much confidence & be guided by any positive market moves. Former mainlander NORTHERN SOUL gets the services of David Pires & looks well placed. GOLD LIBRETTIST is a solid grinder who will love getting out to this trip. HUGO is having a great prep. The Brunton-trained THIS CAT ROCKS prep isn't coming together but they've poured another trial into him. HUSHAMA has got her prep back on track. RATHER HEROIC turned a bit of a corner last start.
Race 4 tips - 1st: NORTHERN SOUL (8), 2nd: GOLD LIBRETTIST (3), 3rd: HUGO (1), 4th: THIS CAT ROCKS (4).

Race 5 summary - NO MONEY NO HONEY is an interesting runner from the Brunton yard. She resumes but left last prep with back-to-back to wins. MATIANO is also nice & fresh here & always runs a good race. SEBRING'S JOY had excuses on the heavy track last start & can bounce back. SCRUTINEER has returned in good order & knows how to win second-up. QUI SAMER, KELLY'S DIVA & INTO THE NIGHT can make an impact.
Race 5 tips - 1st: NO MONEY NO HONEY (3), 2nd: MATIANO (2), 3rd: SEBRING'S JOY (1), 4th: SCRUTINEER (6).

Race 6 summary - The Brunton yard have a strong hand & be guided by any positive market moves. MANSPLAINING found the worse part of the track last start. FAREWELL ANGELINA has come back in great nick. NEWTS has come back ticking over beautifully. SPECIAL SHOT has turned a good corner. CLANG THANG is yet another former mainlander taken on by the Bruntons.
Race 6 tips - 1st: MANSPLAINING (2), 2nd: FAREWELL ANGELINA (8), 3rd: NEWTS (1), 4th: SPECIAL SHOT (7).

Race 7 summary - Yet again the Brunton have three strong chances in ANGEL OF THE ABYSS & NUNIVAK & be guided by any positive market moves. Good opposition from GEE GEE SUN VALLEY, SEAJAMM & TOUGH MISSILE.
Race 7 tips - 1st: ANGEL OF THE ABYSS (2), 2nd: NUNIVAK (4), 3rd: GEE GEE SUN VALLEY (3), 4th: SEAJAMM (6).

Race 8 summary - Again the Brunton yard to the fore with ORANGE RIVER & YOU DIDN'T & follow the market moves. Still, there's strong opposition from the fast finishing mare REANN'S DIAMOND. Lightly raced mare GLISTENING STAR can win again. HIRVONEN's form has tapered somewhat yet there have been excuses & they've poured another trial into him for this. MULLEY'S IDOL, COL'S HERO & GIVE US A WINNER can make an impact.
Race 8 tips - 1st: ORANGE RIVER (4), 2nd: YOU DIDN'T (2), 3rd: REANN'S DIAMOND (5), 4th: GLISTENING STAR (7).

Divine Prophet’s Fortunate Kiss Captures Elusive Black Type Win
With nine top five finishes in previous black type races, it was better late than never as 6yo Divine Prophet mare Fortunate Kiss charged along the inside to win the $300,000 Listed Glasshouse Handicap (1400m) at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday – her first black type victory.
