Top priced Rubick scores maiden win

Breednet - Monday August 12
Rubick had his third winner for the new season on Monday when his highest priced first season seller broke through for the maiden win.

RubickThe ironically named Jailbreak was having his sixth start, and second as a gelding, when breaking through convincingly at Goulburn as the short-priced favourite.

He was the most expensive yearling by his sire in 2018 when offered by Segenhoe Stud and making $470,000 to the bid of Damion Flower's Jadesky Racing and Brad Widdup, who trains the three-year-old.

Flower is currently firmly ensconced in jail in fact, awaiting trial on drugs charges.

Jailbreak is out of Our Songbird, a Fastnet Rock half-sister to stakes winners Debonairly and Corsaire, from the family of German champion Catella.

Her yearling by Dissident this year made $300,000 at Magic Millions Gold Coast and she returned to Rubick last season.
