gavelhouse.com graduate Century Miss rewarded with a win

Media Release - Wednesday August 23
Windsor Park Stud-bred Mastercraftsman filly Century Miss had an impressive win today in the Mills Reef Maiden at Tauranga.

Starting favourite in the 2160m event, she moved forward at the home turn and managed to get away from the rail to take the lead at the 150m mark beating her rivals' home by an impressive five lengths.

Century MissSold almost a year ago in the gavelhouse.com New Zealand September on account of Windsor Park Stud she fetched $5,000 as a broken-in and quietly prepared three year old.

Since coming under new ownership the Graham Thomas-trained mare has had four starts in which she placed second in her last two starts before her smart win today.

"Graham has done a great job with her and has brought her on nice and quietly."

"She's pulled up well after today's race and we will continue to progress her through the grades looking towards some better staying races next year." commented part-owner Robert Gollan.
