Finalists Announced for Racing NSW Night of Champions

Media Release - Monday July 29
The New South Wales Racehorse Owners' Association is pleased to announce the 2018/19 finalists (in alphabetical order) for this year's Racing's Night of Champions, to be held on 15 August.

The awards are to be presented at a prestigious charity evening themed "Celebrating the Best" in the Royal Randwick Ballroom on Thursday, 15 August 2019.

Other awards to be presented on the night include the BOBS Horse of the Year, the Sydney Strapper of the Year, the NSW Racing Writers' Personality of the Year, the T J Smith Award, the George Moore Award, the Theo Green Award, the Bart Cummings Medal and the coveted title of TAB NSW Champion Horse of the Year.

Loyal supporters TAB, Racing NSW, Sky Racing, the Australian Turf Club, International Animal Health Products, New Zealand Bloodstock, Wild Oaks, Inglis, Carrazzo Consulting, De Bortoli Wines and Hall Chadwick are joined by new sponsors Coolmore Australia and City Tatts.

Partnering for the first time with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) as the charity, the evening will hit home with the many industry participants who have friends and colleagues, or even personal experience, with devastating spinal cord injuries.

Jockeys Tommy Berry and Tye Angland are involved in this year's event, with Tye currently receiving rehabilitation and ongoing peer support through SCIA and welcoming the opportunity to help raise funds for its ongoing work. SCIA provides a range of ongoing services to help people lead more independent lives.

Generous donations of auction items will make for some lively bidding. A service (with free return) to Golden Slipper winner, Vancouver; a handmade white gold and diamond pendant; a $10,000 SKY Racing advertising package; a 5 Star luxury holiday in Bali with business class airfares; and a McLaren Racing Car experience are just some of the fantastic lots in the auction.

There will also be a raffle conducted on the night as well as a lucky door prize. The 2019 Racing's Night of Champions Awards will again be televised live on Sky Thoroughbred Central on the Foxtel platform, and also internationally by their exclusive media partner Sky Racing, with highlights of the night also being shown across all Sky Racing channels.

Tickets, at $240 per person ($2,400 for a table of ten) are selling out quickly. For more information regarding the 2019 Racing's Night of Champions, contact Jane Henning at the NSWROA office on 0421 353 871, by email owners@nswroa.com.au or visit the NSWROA website www.nswroa.com.au
