Dart's termination is effective immediately and QRIC will now begin a recruiting process to find a new director of stewards.

He was stood down from duties in early November last year, when serious allegations were made against him.

Dart was the sixth steward or official in Queensland to be sacked or stood aside in the past 14 months.

QRIC Commissioner Ross Barnett moved on Wednesday to clear up confusion over which role Dart held when he was stood down.

Barnett said a protracted and independent external investigation had proven serious workplace misconduct while Dart was employed at Racing Queensland.

"The nature of the misconduct left me with no alternative but to dismiss Dart," Barnett said.

"Dart was announced as QRIC Director of Stewarding and Licensing in October 2016 prior to the formal process for appointment under the Public Service Act to the role being completed.

"Normally the remaining steps in that process are routine but when it became apparent an investigation was required, the official appointment process was put on hold and he was suspended on full pay.

"The Commission has installed several temporary directors of stewarding to cover the role during the investigation period, including senior stewards Ian Brown and Martin Knibbs,.

"The Licensing and Registration Manager Ali Wade is currently in her second stint in the role."

Barnett said a new recruitment process would be held in the near future to appoint a permanent QRIC Director of Stewarding.
