Fastnet Express to Stand at Brisbane Meadows

Media Release - Monday July 8
Boutique Southern Highlands thoroughbred stud Brisbane Meadows is delighted to announce an exciting new addition in blue-blooded Fastnet Rock stallion Fastnet Express.

Fastnet Express was a quality yearling that made $250,000 at MMUnraced due to injury, Fastnet Express was a $250,000 Magic Millions purchase for Anthony Cummings from the draft of Tyreel Stud.

"A very strong and imposing stallion that oozes quality, his sale price as a yearling is a reflection of his great conformation and type, not to mention his pedigree, being out of superbly bred Group II winner My Tusker," said Fiona Mylan of Brisbane Medaows.

"Anthony Cummings had a very big opinion of him, but unfortunately he did not make it to the racetrack due to injury. His owners will be supporting him well with a quality group of mares and he will be available to outside mares this season as well."

Fastnet Express is a sibling to four winners including the dam of this season's Group I BRC Queensland Derby winner Mr Quickie and comes from a family steeped in Group I success.

His dam My Tusker is a grand-daughter of New Zealand champion Horlicks, who won multiple Group I races and captured the Japan Cup in world record time.

At stud, Horlicks produced Melbourne Cup winner Brew and her other descendants include Group I winners Fiumicino and Sacred Elixir, so it's a genuinely top class family that has won some of the best races in the world.

Fastnet Rock has a well proven track record as a sire of sires through outstanding stallions such as the late Hinchinbrook, Smart Missile, Foxwedge and Your Song with Fastnet Express ticking every box as a potential sire in terms of pedigree.

Fastnet Express shares many of the best attributes of Fastnet Rock boasting a strong physique, great constitution and the renowned even temperament that has made his stock successful in every corner of the world.

He will join the Brisbane Meadows roster to stand alongside Pendragon and Knight Exemplar at a fee of $1500 inc. GST.
