Inglis Graduates Dominate

Media Release - Friday June 28

With another season of G1 racing in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong now over, Inglis is thrilled to again be the leading provider of G1 winners across the three jurisdictions.

Over the course of the 2018/19 season, there have been 19 individual G1-winning Inglis graduates in Australia, NZ and HK, comfortably more than the next best auction house.

The Autumn SunThe best performed of the G1 winners was superstar colt The Autumn Sun (pictured), who won four times at the top level – The Golden Rose, Caulfield Guineas, Randwick Guineas and Rosehill Guineas.

The Australian Easter Yearling Sale graduate has since been retired to stand at Arrowfield Stud, with the rumoured sale price placing him among the most valuable colts on the planet and more than justifying his $700,000 price tag.

Further multiple G1-winning Inglis graduates this season were Santa Ana Lane (VRC Sprint, TJ Smith Stakes), Kenedna (Queen of the Turf Stakes, Doomben Cup) and Beat The Clock (Chairman's Sprint Prize, Centenary Sprint Cup).

The other G1 winners were Maid Of Heaven (Spring Champion Stakes), Land Of Plenty (Toorak Handicap), Extra Brut (Victoria Derby), Aristia (VRC Oaks), Voodoo Lad (Winterbottom Stakes), Manuel (CF Orr Stakes), In Her Time (Black Caviar Lightning), Booker (Oakleigh Plate), Trapeze Artist (Canterbury Stakes), Nature Strip (The Galaxy), Castelvecchio (Champagne Stakes), Spright (Robert Sangster Stakes), Crown Prosecutor (NZ Derby), Enzo's Lad (Telegraph Handicap) and Mr Stunning (Hong Kong International Sprint).

Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said: "To the breeders, vendors, suppliers, buyers, owners, trainers, strappers, stud and stable staff, everybody who has had anything to do with these results, congratulations.

"We are extremely proud to have played a small role in these fantastic results again and have thoroughly enjoyed sharing these wins with our great and loyal clients.

"I believe we have the best bloodstock team in the business and they are there to provide you with an elite service and help you to achieve the best results.

"Yearling buyers want to shop at the sales where they can buy the best racehorses and, yet again this season in Australia and New Zealand and Hong Kong, it has been shown that Inglis sales produce more of the best racehorses.

"We also sold Atyaab, which won the G1 Kenilworth Cape Derby in South Africa earlier this year but with the G1 racing season not yet complete over there, we will hopefully have more Inglis graduates winning at the top level for our South African clients.

"There is no doubt in my mind that this racetrack success will be to the forefront of buyers approaching the sales in 2020.

"We sold many more outstanding yearlings this year, many of which will no doubt progress into future G1 winners and I look forward to offering more champions in 2020 and beyond.''

Entries for the 2020 Inglis Select Yearling Sales open soon.
