So You Think He’s Had a Lot of Winners?

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday June 19
So You Think has been churning out the winners this month with 29 winners in the past 30 days including progressive three year-old filly Guise, who was an eye-catching winner at Canterbury on Wednesday for the powerful Chris Waller stable.

Guise as a yearlingSent to Queensland to start her career in some of the lower grade races, Guise won her first three starts through March and April and placed at her next two before returning to the Waller stable in Sydney.

Having her first start in NSW, Guise was allowed to settle at the rear after jumping from the outside in a field of 11 and unwound a big finish to charge home and win the Benchmark 70 event over 1900 metres by three-quarters of a length.

A $160,000 Inglis Easter Session II purchase for Michael Otto Bloodstock from the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft, Guise runs for New Zealand owner Terry Jarvis and has the impressive record of four wins and two placings from just six starts with prizemoney topping $80,000.

Bred by Think Big Stud, Guise is the best of three winners from Maie Casey (IRE), an imported Singspiel mare that has an interesting pedigree. She was bred by Darley and is a half-sister to Australian Group II winner Zydeco being from Group I VATC Thousand Guineas winner All Time High, a half-sister to multiple Group I winner All Our Mob.

With a seasonal strike rate of 50% winners to runners, So You Think has had a great season siring over 100 winners for the first time with those winners including a new Group I winner in Nakeeta Jane.

The champion son of High Chaparral stands at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $38,500.
